Knitting in the AC ?

It's bound to be hotter than hot this summer - so come on down to Angel Hair Yarn Co. and beat the heat.  Make a day of it - we enjoy the company and there are plenty of places for eating and shopping within walking distance!

Craft as Therapy

First off, thanks to EVERYONE who participated in Angel Hair's Breast Cancer Drive this spring.  With your help, we raised $686.75 in a little over one month - that's fantastic!  By the time you read this note, we will have sent a check to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in Nashville to aid their research.

If you are currently battling cancer of any kind and want to learn to knit in a relaxing and friendly environment, come join Charisse on the first Saturday of the month from 9-10am.  There will be no charge for this class, and you'll receive a 10% discount on purchases made for your class projects. Please call ahead by Friday afternoon to let us know youfre coming. We hope to see you!

Other Charitable Knittings

In other charity news, we also donated blankets (knit by Helen Omberg, among others) to the Our Kids program and Vanderbilt's Blankets for Kids.  Thanks to everyone who donated yarn and time to these projects!

Summertime Lessons

Just a reminder that private lessons are a great way to learn new techniques or tackle that complicated pattern in time for your travels by car, plane or boat. Or of therefs a class you are unable to fit into your schedule, take a private lesson! Just call to schedule.

Tootsies on Tuesday

Who doesn't have a ton of sock yarn that needs to be to knit?  Join us anytime each Tuesday to work on those socks you've been meaning to finish!  Stuck on instructions?  We'll be there to help and cheer you on as you finally finish the socks youfve always wanted. Finish a sock while you're at the shop and receive a 15% discount on your next project!

Wednesday AM Finishing

How many sweaters are languishing in your closet, waiting only for a few seams?  What’s the wait?  Come on in to get help from 10am-noon on Wednesdays - and if you finish your item while you join us, you'll receive a 15% discount on your next project!

Knit-Along Ideas?

Is there a project you'd like to work on with a group?  Go through all the twists and turns with your friends and have help available.  We'd love for you to suggest a project to knit-along with Angel Hair!  Email or stop by with your ideas. If we use your suggestion, you’ll receive 25% off your project materials.

Join us for the Cozy Knitting class
to knit a tea cozy and taste teas.
We’re offering it 2 times this summer.
In the meantime, try out these great recipes
using Fair Trade Teas’ Sweet Friend Blend.
Sweet Friend Blend
For a summer cooler, try Fair Trade Teas' "Sweet Friend Blend" iced.  Brew 1 tsp. of tea per cup, add sweetener, cool to room temperature and serve over ice!  This makes a great plain iced tea as well as a great Sangria mixer.  Just mix 1 part red wine with 1 part sweetened iced Sweet Friend Blend and a splash of brandy.  Serve over ice with an orange slice.Sweet Friend Blend and other unique blends are available at Apropos and online at fairtradeteas.com.
